A Bit About Mick...

Mick Picton has always been a muso! From the age of three when he picked up his first guitar he has rarely been seen without an instrument in hand or close by. Growing up in Dubbo and being an active part of the local music scene, Mick has helped shaped the future for local musicians by starting muso’s nights and encouraging aspiring artists to just have a go. In 2013 Mick and his wife Gloria opened a music venue and music shop and over the last 9 years continue to support the local scene.

Sitting down and playing blues music is where Mick feels most at home. He has played along many great blues musicians in Memphis, Nashville and New Orleans. He has many memorable moments on stage but his most prized memory is playing at the Ground Zero Blues Club in Clarksdale Mississippi. The blues don’t get much more authentic than they do there!

The past few years have seen Mick focusing on writing and recording his own music and sharing it on his travels around Australia. Pulling inspiration from the great Blues musicians of the past Mick writes stories from the heart that inspire and help us remember everything just like it was yesterday.
